Assignment:

Part 1

  • Use a different colored pencil to plot 20 recent earthquakes and 20 volcanoes over the past year or two.

  • Go to the links above for the information.

  • Use the Latitude (bar from left to right) and Longitude (vertical bar) to plot the points; round to nearest whole number.

Part 2

  • Find the major mountain ranges of the world. Locate their ranges and with another colored pencil mark each of their locations on your map. Use upside down Vs to mark the mountain ranges. Label with their names. (World Mountain Ranges Map)

  • On the map of the world, draw in the MAJOR crustal plates associated with all of your volcanoes and earthquakes; include arrows showing the directions the plates are moving. OR, color each boundary different colors and make a key. (Plates & Boundaries Website)
